The I-10 Witness Project

For those who haven't heard, my (our) friend Sam Barnett is going to be in New Orleans for a week, helping out the I-10 Witness Project. The group is collecting first hand accounts of how Hurricane Katrina has affected the lives of people in and around NOLA. While the interviews in their entirety are being preserved for future historians and citizens to experience, shorter, edited versions of some of the interviews are posted on their website. Forget the pundits and journalists, and hear the straight dope first hand.
