If I could have a dollar for every time one of my students used Wikipedia as a source in a paper, I could have... well, like $200. But still, that's a lot.
Just ran accross this:
Speaking at “The Hyperlinked Society” conference, Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales said he gets about 10 e-mails a week from students complaining that Wikipedia has gotten them into hot water. “They say, ‘Please help me. I got an F on my paper because I cited Wikipedia... “For God sake, you’re in college; don’t cite the encyclopedia.”
